WEEK 32: FITNESS TESTING BEGINS

This week the second through the fifth grades will run the mile run and the kindergarten and first grades will run the half mile. This will be the first leg of the fitness test, one of four test students will take over the next few weeks. Students are encouraged to run for several reasons: to set a personal best, to pass the fitness test at the national or presidential level, to pass the school time of 14 minutes, to get into the "Mile of Fame", and to be a top runner in the school or grade. Next week the top scores will be posted. Students who miss the mile this week will make it up later. If time permits, the pull up or flexed arm hang test will be performed.

Next week will be situps and the flexibility test. Remember if students pass all tests at the presidential or national level, they will win an award! The testing scores to pass can be seen in the links section titled "FITNESS TESTING STANDARDS." A passing score depends on the age and if the student is a boy or girl.
